We'll keep you as busy or as laid-back
as you want! Our peninsula has a lot to do. You can explore the
many activities yourself or go on guided tours to many of our
attractions. Particularly popular is the boat ride to the world-class
beach of Playa Rincon.
Whether you want to swim, scuba
dive, deep sea fish with a local fisherman, rock climb the face
of Cape Samana, go horseback riding on the beach or to the el
Limon waterfall in the mountains, see Samana’s humpback
whales, hike the country-side, picnic on a secluded beach, visit
the farmer’s market, sail a catamaran or just simply laze
in the warmth of the Caribbean sun - all this and more is waiting
for you.
“After 8 something
hotels we finally found our waterhole,…making us feel as
if we were visiting friends instead of staying in just another
hotel.” Jenny Vejbin & Glenn Adolfsson, Gottenburg,
Sweden. Just ask us and we will arrange
everything to make your vacation an enjoyable one.
Of special interest is whale watching
from January to April. Almost 5,000 humpback whales return to
this part of the Caribbean every year to give birth and mate.
And during this time, about 350 whales are in Samana Bay and
the waters off Las Galeras.
Excursions out to the whale pods
in boats staffed by knowledgeable personnel are readily available
and provide an exciting and memorable experience. Samana’s
whales are internationally known and are truly a national treasure.
